Adam Cole is certainly one of the most skilled in-ring competitors in the pro wrestling world right now. He parted ways with NXT after a four-year stint and made his way to AEW. There is also doubt over him moving the needle in AEW.
Cole competed in a fatal four-way match for the IWGP World Heavyweight title at Forbidden Door, despite being injured before the match. The match led to him suffering a concussion as well, and he hasn’t returned to in-ring competition yet.
While speaking during a recent episode of Keepin’ it 100, Disco Inferno and Konnan discussed the need for major players such as CM Punk and MJF to return to AEW television. Inferno then made it clear that he doubts Adam Cole can’t move the needle in AEW.
“They need Bryan Danielson back full time, they need Punk back full time, they need MJF back on the show full-time. There’s a lot of guys that aren’t on the show that were doing very entertaining television and compelling television that aren’t on the show right now. I think they could get over a million if MJF comes back, whatever they’re doing with him and when Punk gets back, like you know Bryan Danielson- [Adam Cole is out too] He’s out too but I don’t think he moves the needle.”
Adam Cole also isn’t going to need surgery for his torn labrum. Cole is also unlikely to make his return to AEW television anytime soon. It remains to be seen when he will return. Hopefully, he will be able to prove his doubters wrong when that day happens.
