Vince McMahon made headlines in June after he secretly paid $3 million as a settlement to a departing employee. Because of this, McMahon was under investigation, and he had to retire. That being said, Bobby Lashley hopes they don’t lose touch.
It was revealed that McMahon also paid $12 million in hush money to several women over the last twenty years. This was the last straw for many people, ultimately leading to McMahon’s downfall.
While speaking in a recent interview with Wrestling Inc, Bobby Lashley stated that he hopes he can still get advice from Vince McMahon despite his retirement.
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Vince. I told him when I heard the news, it’s amazing how many people he’s taken care of. He put my kids through school, he put a roof over my head, and he did it for so many other people. There’s thousands of people that can say that. He’s a pioneer of the business, he created an empire. The reason why I’m standing here today is because of him, so of course, I have all the respect for Vince and I hope that things get worked out however they may. I hope that I can always be able to contact him and get some advice.
Vince McMahon was removed from all mention during WWE SummerSlam. Of course, Bobby Lashley defeated Austin Theory during that event to retain the United States title. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for Bobby Lashley, and Vince McMahon for that matter.
