Big E had to overcome a lot of obstacles over the years throughout his time in WWE. He reached the top of the mountain by becoming the WWE Champion last year as well, but it didn’t last long. After a terrible neck injury, he also holds no animosity towards Ridge Holland for being a part of that move.
Back in March, WWE fans were utterly shocked when Big E was dumped on his head by Ridge Holland via a belly-to-belly suplex on the outside of the ring. Big E was said to have suffered a broken neck due to the bump, and that sadly ended up being the case.
Big E then revealed that he will not be needing any surgery. E also shared a very unfortunate update regarding his recovery. While speaking on The MMA Hour, Big E made it clear that he holds no animosity towards Ridge Holland, as injuries do happen.
“We’re good, man. Things happen. It’s a part of what we sign up for. It’s not something I ever would have wanted, but it happened. Me hating him or holding a grudge doesn’t help me at all. He’s been very apologetic, so we’re good man. I hold no ill will against him at all.
I generally think he’s a good human being. I truly do. I’ve enjoyed our interaction prior, and I wish him well. I don’t want this to be the albatross around his neck, whether I have to retire early or not. I can hug my loved ones. I can live my life. My life is good. So, there’s no ill will whatsoever.”
Big E also didn’t have to pay a single penny for his medical expenses. E will also be content if he never wrestles again. It remains to be seen when Big E will finally make his triumphant return to WWE television.
