Matt Cardona was known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE, and he worked hard to establish himself in the company. Cardona was insanely over in WWE at one point in time, but he never quite reached his full potential. After his release, he hit the ground running and made a name for himself outside of Vince McMahon’s former company, but an injury came along to put him out. Now, the Broski also provided an update on his return from injury.

As previously reported, Matt Cardona was injured at GCW Downward Spiral. Matt Cardona would end up confirming he will need bicep surgery. Cardona was the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion, but relinquished the title back at NWA Alwayz Ready.

While speaking about his injury to Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Matt Cordona stated that he is almost 100% ready to return to the ring, but will not compete until he is certain.

“I will not get back in the ring unless I’m 100%. Right now, if there was something going down with Ric Flair’s last match and they said, ‘Hey Matt, the card got shuffled, we need you to wrestle Ric Flair.’ Alright, I’d boot those boots on. I’d put that baby oil on and wrestle, but I’m not risking it for anything less than that until I’m 100%. We’re getting there, I’m almost 100%, but I’m not there yet.”

Cardona is set to be a part of GCW Homecoming Part 2, where he is set to renew his wedding vows to Chelsea Green. We will have to wait and see when Cardona will be able to make his return to the squared circle.
