Vince McMahon made headlines last month after he secretly paid $3 million as a settlement to a departing employee. Because of this, McMahon was under investigation, and Mr. McMahon eventually had to retire to save ace. His retirement could also affect many WWE Superstars as well.
It was then discovered that McMahon also paid $12 million in hush money to quite a few women over the last twenty years. This was what truly drew the ire of many, ultimately leading to McMahon’s downfall.
Vince McMahon took to Twitter on Friday and announced his decision to retire from WWE. While speaking on his Hall of Fame show, Booker T was asked by a fan if the relationship between Superstars and the management will change following McMahon’s retirement. Booker T stated that he believes McMahon’s retirement could change the comfort zone for many WWE superstars.
“You know, Vince retired, is it gonna affect guys, certain guys, especially certain guys in certain positions? Yeah, heck yeah. That’s because I think a lot of these guys are used to dealing with Vince McMahon directly. It’s a certain comfort zone there that these guys have had with Vince. They can knock on that door and they go in there and they can actually have a conversation with him and get that wisdom, that advice from Vince. I’m gonna tell you right now, a lot of guys cherish that, a lot of guys went through their whole careers having Vince be that umbrella. Yeah, I could totally understand that 100 percent.”
Some also believe that Vince McMahon’s retirement is nothing but a farce. It remains to be seen how much WWE will change now. For the time being, WWE doesn’t necessarily want big changes.
