Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has accomplished many things in his illustrious pro wrestling career. Flair remains one of the most well-known but controversial wrestlers even now. He also regrets wrestling after his WrestleMania 24 match.
The Nature Boy put his WWE career on the line against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24. It was a truly legendary match and it saw Michaels utter the words, “I’m sorry. I love you,” before putting Flair down and ending his career.
However, Flair would return to pro wrestling in TNA and wrestle in several matches. His last match was a loss to Sting on September 12, 2011, during a TNA Impact taping.
While speaking during a conference call, Conrad Thompson revealed that Ric Flair regrets wrestling after his legendary WrestleMania 24 match.
“He regrets wrestling after WrestleMania 24. What a perfect sendoff WWE gave him with that Shawn Michaels match, and then the next night on Monday Night RAW. I mean, that’s a sendoff that nobody, not just in wrestling but in sports gets, so it was really special. But for a variety of reasons, he did wrestle after that.”
Ric Flair will make his in-ring return on July 31st as part of the huge Starrcast wrestling convention. He’ll team up with Andrade El Idolo to take on Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in a traditional tag team match. We’ll have to see how his final match will turn out to be.
