WWE began a new era on Friday after Vince McMahon retired from his duties with the company. On Monday, Paul “Triple H” Levesque was named the new head of creative. Now, The Game will be in charge of booking for a company that has had Mr. McMahon in charge for as long as it’s existed.

There have always been stories out there about Vince McMahon’s quirkiness behind the scenes. One of the primary complaints WWE fans have had over the years is the company’s unwillingness to try new things. As expected, the constant repetition in WWE came from none other than Vince.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that Vince McMahon’s short-term memory when it comes to booking is something many within WWE are looking forward to leaving behind. With Triple H in charge, there should be an influx of new ideas. When Vince had the book, he frequently repeated things that had already been done time and time again.

“When asking those working in and near creative what they expected to change the most with Triple H in control, and one specifically said ‘recall of what we have and haven’t done repeatedly. There were so many things that Vince insisted on doing that I’m pretty sure he didn’t remember doing over and over again, even when people would tell him.'”

Vince McMahon stepped down from his position after concerning reports of hush money payments to WWE employees with whom he had inappropriate relationships. The company then had to revise several financial statements to reflect those payments, which benefitted the company. At that point, many believe McMahon was forced out.

Time will tell how the company’s product looks with Triple H in charge. Last night’s Raw was the last show where the majority was written by Vince McMahon. Hopefully, fans are subject to a lot less repetitive content going forward.
