Bianca Belair is preparing for one of the biggest matches of her career. The EST of WWE will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch at Saturday’s SummerSlam premium live event. The match comes at a time when the company’s treatment of women has been under the microscope by the media and fans alike.

Vince McMahon retired from WWE after the board of directors launched an investigation into hush money he paid employees to keep quiet about relationships he had with them. There have been tons of stories over the years about McMahon and WWE mistreating female talent. Bianca Belair dodged the question when asked.

Bianca spoke to Newsday to promote tonight’s huge WWE Raw from Madison Square Garden. Alfonso Castillo asked Belair what it’s like working under a lot of male managers. Rather than directly respond to the question, Bianca Belair put over the hard work and results the women’s division has been achieving.

“I feel like I’m in WWE in an amazing time, when women are really at the forefront of not just the future, but the present. Women are main eventing on a weekly basis on Raw and SmackDown. We’re main eventing at premium live events. We’re main eventing and stealing the show at WrestleMania. Most of the women in WWE are trending on a weekly basis.

So, I’m just here in an amazing time. And I’m blessed and fortunate to be the Raw Women’s Champion and be the face of the women’s division on the Raw side . . .  It’s just a really great time to be a woman in WWE.”

On his way out, Vince McMahon sent a message to wrestlers that asked them to “carry the WWE flag” wherever they go. Bianca Belair was asked a direct question about what working for the men in WWE is like and instead chose to keep it positive and avoid the question entirely. It appears Vince’s message was received loud and clear.
