Drew McIntyre has worked hard to establish himself as one of the top stars in WWE. He is a former 2-time WWE Champion and is truly an inspiration to many pro wrestlers. Steve Austin also has a high opinion of him as well as Sheamus.
McIntyre and Sheamus are good friends in real life, and you always hit your friends harder in the ring. That amounts to some big possibilities for confrontations.
From late 2020 to this year, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were involved in a very serious feud that saw them taking on each other in a series of hard-hitting and intense matches. The matches received a lot of praise from fans and WWE Superstars alike.
While speaking with Bill Apter, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin talked about attending the recent Reno, Nevada WWE house show. In the main event of the show, Drew McIntyre defeated Sheamus. Austin stated that he believes both McIntyre and Sheamus are future Hall Of Famers.
“Drew and Sheamus headlined the card and they had a tremendous main event, They went probably at least 20 minutes, almost like an anything goes match, and they tore the house down. They were a great main event and everybody loved it. Drew McIntyre is still doing great things. Hell, Sheamus, I love where they’ve got him figured right now.
They came back after the match and said, ‘Hey, what do you think?’ I said, ‘Come on, guys. Y’all got 40 years of experience between you. Y’all have been in the business longer than I ever was. What can I tell you guys? You’re two professionals!’ Two super great human beings and two Hall of Famers. In all of these Hall of Fames that I’ve been in, they’ll go in as well.”
McIntyre and Sheamus will duke it out on the July 29 edition of WWE SmackDown to determine the Roman Reigns’ challenger for the Clash at the Castle premium live event in Cardiff, Wales in September. We’ll have to see who will win in the end.
