Gunther had an amazing run in NXT UK as he became the longest-reigning champion in modern WWE by holding the NXT UK Title for a record 870 days. He would drop the title to Ilja Dragunov at NXT TakeOver 36. He also had a face off with Drew McIntyre recently.

Gunther eventually made his way to the US as part of the NXT roster as well. Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser made their main roster debut on Friday Night Smackdown earlier this year.

Gunter also won the Intercontinental Championship back in June. During last night’s WWE live event in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Drew McIntyre had a face off with Gunther after the latter defended his title against Ricochet.

Gunther and McIntyre faced in the 2019 Survivor Series match when McIntyre pinned Gunther as well. We’ll have to see whether the two will end up having a match in the future or not.
