Vince McMahon stepped away from his position as the creative head of WWE on Friday. McMahon sent out an internal memo wherein he communicated his decision and named Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan as co-CEO’s. This week’s SmackDown will usher in a new era in WWE.

The official Twitter account of WWE announced that Stephanie McMahon will kick off this week’s edition of the blue brand. This could be huge, and fans are certainly waiting to see what’s next in store for WWE.

It was previously reported that Brock Lesnar walked out of the building after he heard the news of Vince McMahon’s departure. WWE could make overtures to Goldberg to wrestle as Lesnar’s replacement at SummerSlam. Either way, Lesnar was pissed about McMahon retiring.
Lesnar has already been removed from SmackDown mentions for this week. The Beast was set to square off against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam.
Tonight’s edition of SmackDown is definitely the one to look forward. Stephanie McMahon last appeared on WWE TV at WrestleMania 38 where she endorsed Gable Steveson.
