Rhino remains one of the most enduring wrestlers out there. The former ECW champion never seems to run out of gas and has worked virtually everywhere in the US. He’s wrestled in WWE, Impact, and Ring of Honor since Paul Heyman’s promotion closed in 2001. He is still an active competitor in Impact Wrestling, but he will be missing some time.
Rhino was forced to have hip surgery after a career of over twenty years. On Impact television, he was written off in an angle. Honor No More took him out.
Dave Meltzer reported on Rhino’s surgery in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He noted the angle that was used to write him off of television. Meltzer also mentioned how Heath Slater is now going after Honor No More for a measure of revenge.
“Rhino will be out of action for a while after hip surgery. They did an angle on TV to give it a story as Honor No More took him out. Heath is going for revenge for him.”
Rhino has quietly become one of wrestling’s most decorated champions. He has held various independent titles around the United States. He is a former NWA and Impact world champion and has held gold in WWE as well.
Hopefully, Rhino can heal up quickly. He has been entertaining fans for decades and shows few signs of stopping. Everyone at Ringside News wishes him a speedy and full recovery after his hip surgery.
