Andrade El Idolo made a name for himself working in CMLL in Mexico as well as New Japan Pro Wrestling. He then honed his craft in WWE and eventually made his way to AEW. A huge match featuring him has been nixed many times due to injury as well.

During AEW Double Or Nothing, former ROH World Champion Rush made his AEW debut in a pre-taped video, as he was introduced by Andrade. Rush made his first AEW television appearance on the June 22 episode of Rampage. where he assisted Andrade in beating Rey Fenix.

It was evident the company was planning for a huge match between Andrade & Rush vs The Lucha Brothers. It has yet to happen but has been planned for quite a while now.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tony Khan has been hoping to do the match ever since that Rampage episode, but it has been nixed due to injuries.
