Update: Brock Lesnar was said to be “very pissed off” about Vince McMahon’s retirement.
Original: Vince McMahon is no longer associated with WWE in an official capacity. The 77-year-old on Wednesday announced his retirement from the promotion. Vince also thanked the WWE Universe in his tweet. That being said, his earth-shattering announcement might have caused someone very important to take off.
PW Insider reported that WWE called an “all hands on deck” meeting to discuss the future of the promotion post Vince McMahon’s exit. The boss communicated his retirement to WWE talent.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer is now reporting that Brock Lesnar left SmackDown after McMahon revealed the big news. Lesnar was advertised on the show this week.
From several sources, Brock Lesnar has left Smackdown.
McMahon’s announcement prompted WWE to make quick changes to the upper management structure. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were both named co-CEOs of WWE.
Earlier in the day, Triple H was made Executive Vice President of Talent Relations. Vince McMahon’s shocker of a departure has seemingly made things difficult for top management.
Lesnar is set to wrestle Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Last Man Standing match at SummerSlam next week. We’ll have to wait and see what’s next for the Beast Incarnate.
