Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes put back-to-back-to-back clinics for the WWE Universe. The first match took place at WrestleMania 38. They ran it back at WrestleMania Backlash. The two collided for the third and final time inside Hell in a Cell.

Rollins recently sat down with Digital Spy for an interview. The Monday Night Messiah talked about his modern-day classics against The American Nightmare, especially their Hell in a Cell bout. For those not in the know, Cody wrestled inside the demonic structure with a torn pec.

The crowd inside the Allstate Arena witnessed a brutal sight when Cody took off his Homelander-inspired gear, revealing a bruised chest. Rollins said he hadn’t seen anything like that and couldn’t believe the extent of Cody’s injuries until he saw for himself.

“It was pretty gnarly. I don’t think I expected it to look like that. I’ve had some torn muscles in my day and I know that the blood seeps down, gravity just takes over but I had never seen anything like that.

“I remember Triple H had torn his pec some time ago at an event and shared a picture of it and it was pretty brutal but nothing like what we saw from Cody at Hell in a Cell. His bicep, tricep, shoulder, pec it was down to his belly button almost, it was pretty gnarly.

“It was definitely shocking and I think the way I felt about it was how the audience in Chicago felt. They were just very uncomfortable for the first little bit. I think people were even wary just to cheer for him because it was so wild.”

Cody is currently recovering from his gruesome injury and is expected to miss the rest of 2022. That being said, Cody is advertised for an episode of Raw that will air in August. Keep reading Ringside News for more.
