Cora Jade turned heel on last week’s episode of NXT. After winning the tag team titles with Roxanne Perez, Jade turned on her best friend and attacked her during her NXT Women’s Championship match with Mandy Rose. This week, Cora showed the ultimate sign of disrespect when she dropped her tag title belt into the trash.

The incident brought to mind a famous WCW moment. In 1995, after jumping from WWE to WCW, Madusa (formerly Alundra Blayze in WWE) trashed the WWE Women’s Championship. The moment got Madusa a ton of attention, and it was two decades before she finally was welcomed back by the company.

As Cora Jade had her defining moment as a heel, Madusa was watching. The WWE Hall of Famer co-signed on the moment in a tweet to Cora Jade. She thought it was a great moment.

“Great promo… #coraismoney”

There has not been an update on what will happen next with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. After Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on WWE as the main roster’s champions, WWE announced a tournament would be held to crown a new champion. They have not mentioned the titles since.

It will be interesting to see what happens next for the NXT women’s titles. Cora Jade wants no part of continuing to team with Roxanne Perez after her betrayal. Madusa believes that action created another iconic moment.
