The Undertaker is considered by many within the industry to be one of the most outstanding locker room leaders in history. He was recently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Vince McMahon. Although he’s respected by many, one person believes Taker may have caused one former WWE star to stumble in his career.
On the latest “DDP Snake Pit” podcast, WCW legend DDP expressed his displeasure over WWE creative and pointed explicitly to the feud between Bray Wyatt and Taker. DDP speculated that backstage politics may’ve prevented Wyatt from beating Taker at WrestleMania.
I don’t understand why a lot of things get done there sometimes. You know what sticks out to me the most is like, why wasn’t Bray Wyatt the one who stopped Taker’s streak?
Because then you could have just kept on going and have him take on the streak. I don’t know why, personalities, politics, I don’t know why? I don’t know why they do certain things.
Wyatt faced Taker at WrestleMania 31, a year after Taker lost his WrestleMania undefeated streak to Brock Lesnar. Despite calling out the Phenom for weeks, Wyatt received a tombstone from Taker and lost the match. The two would briefly reunite their feud later that year at Survivor Series. Wyatt was released from WWE on July 31, 2021.
