AEW has been dealing with a ton of injuries recently. The top of the card has been virtually dismantled, as CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, and several others have been on the shelf. Kenny Omega also recently took a lengthy leave of absence to recover from multiple injuries.

It was recently reported that AEW was planning a major angle for The Young Bucks. Many fans have been dying for the company to launch its six-man tag team titles. Most believe that Tony Khan has been holding off for Kenny Omega’s return to kickstart that build.

A new report by Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall reveals that tentative plans are in place for Kenny Omega to return in time for the All Out pay-per-view in early September. Some staff were told that the Bucks are booked for a six-man tag team program for the PPV. Nothing is confirmed yet, but it sounds like The Cleaner is closer than ever to a return.

“Fightful Select has learned that the tentative plans that certain staff was made aware of was that Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks were slated for a 6-man tag program for September’s All Out PPV. We’ve yet to confirm this with AEW officials, and anything could change, as is the nature of pro wrestling. There have been heavy changes and adjustments to the AEW tag team title scene in the past two months due to injuries and Jeff Hardy’s DUI.”

Kenny Omega has not wrestled since losing the AEW World Championship to ‘Hangman’ Adam Page last November at Full Gear. Since then, he did attempt to return to the road as a producer but stopped when he felt like his recovery was being slowed down. Now, it looks like all the hard work will finally soon pay off.

As always, there could be a change in plans if Kenny Omega suffers a setback. For now, at least some AEW officials are making plans for his return heading into All Out. It’s been a long time coming, but Kenny could soon be back in the ring for Tony Khan’s company.
