Liv Morgan has seen a significant amount of growth over the past couple of years. She especially became a solid star thanks to her excellent feud with Becky Lynch last year and earlier this year. Just recently, Liv Morgan merchandise sales reports caused an online battle now, and it doesn’t look good.

Morgan realized her dream of becoming a champion in WWE when she beat Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Champion at Money in the Bank on Saturday, July 2nd. Morgan was moved to the blue brand shortly after the big win. Mike Johnson of PW Insider also reported that Liv Morgan merchandise was selling like hot cakes at the live events.

However, Brad Shepard completely shut down that report. Shepard recently took to Twitter to contradict Johnson’s account on how well Morgan’s merch is moving. Shepard claimed that Morgan’s merchandise wasn’t even available at the weekend shows to begin with. Then he finished it off by slamming Johnson for being a terrible journalist.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that a source told him “it was obvious looking in the crowd that her (#LivMorgan) merchandise was selling in high numbers at the (live) events.” I was told that is not accurate. #WWE

The best part – her merchandise wasn’t even available at the weekend shows in question. Something Mike Johnson would know and check into if he were a real journalist (which to be clear, he’s not).

Liv’s Smackdown Women’s Title reign might disappoint fans depending on how SummerSlam goes. However, WWE might also have a long-term plan for Liv Morgan as well. Anything can happen in WWE, and Liv Morgan is proof of that. We’ll have to see whether Morgan retains her title at SummerSlam, but it would be a good idea for WWE to ship out extra merchandise for their champion if they expect her to sell any.
