Austin Theory is certainly one of the rising stars of WWE, who continues to become a better wrestler every day. Theory has received a lot of opportunities in WWE, but he didn’t know about his Brock Lesnar match in Madison Square Garden until the last minute.
While speaking with Fightful’s Sean Sapp, Austin Theory talked about his time in WWE over the years. Theory revealed that he didn’t know his match with Brock Lesnar at a house show in Madison Square Garden until the last moment.
Yeah. Just within the past six months, going from being on the winning team at Survivor Series to the Royal Rumble, lasting over twenty minutes, going all the way to Saudi Arabia for the Elimination Chamber and surviving with Brock Lesnar, and then main eventing MSG with Brock Lesnar. Like you said, now we’re here. Fortunately, my WrestleMania match is against a guy named Patrick McAfee. I had somebody today, they’re like, ‘You know his name’s Patrick, right?’ I’m like, ‘Ugh. This guy.’ Just awful.
Probably an hour before. Yeah. We had the card in the back and it just said, ‘Brock versus—’ and there was just nothing there. Then I was like, ‘Wow, this is just a theory, isn’t it?’
Theory then went on to win the Money In The Bank match and shocked everyone all around the world. So far, 2022 is simply the best year of his career, and his stock continues to rise.
RVD also believes it’s Austin Theory’s time to shine in WWE. He is also set to challenge Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship at SummerSlam. We’ll have to see whether he will win back his title or not.
