Tammy Sytch is facing the grave charge of DUI manslaughter. It’s been a long time since there were any updates on her trial. According to the last update, Tammy’s lawyer, Steven deLaroche, left his position as her legal aid after the two had a lot of disagreements. Now Sunny is looking at a public defender.
Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that the Hall of Famer spent some time in court on June 30th. She asked Judge Karen Foxman for a representation from a public defender until she found new legal counsel.
James Pente, Sytch’s boyfriend, is currently going over the options to fill the spot that deLaroche left. The report added that Sytch was permitted to get a public defender after she filled out a form indicating that she is eligible for public representation. However, that’s not all.
The judge then came to know about an incident that took place between her Assistant State Attorney Ashley Terwilleger and Pente. After Terwilleger claimed that Pente said she was “a dirty [expletive],” the judge told Sytch that it might mean Pente will be held in contempt of court.
Sytch has remained in jail ever since her bond was revoked. Her legal troubles came from an incident on March 25th, when she rear-ended another vehicle at a traffic stop. The crash led to the demise of a 75-year old. After Sytch’s toxicology reports revealed blood alcohol content that was 3 1/2 times the legal limit, she was arrested. Sytch has entered a plea of not guilty back in June.
