There has been some chatter regarding the future of The Street Profits. Reportedly, some within WWE see Montez Ford as a potential singles star. While there is no indication of Ford and his partner Angelo Dawkins breaking up, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T says it’s up to the team if they want to believe the rumors.
Speaking on the latest episode of the “Hall of Fame” podcast, the five-time WCW Champion gave some strong thoughts on the Street Profits possibly breaking up. Booker T stated that the rumors would motivate Dawkins rather than worry him.
I’m gonna tell you right now, if Angelo Dawkins ain’t listening to the internet and people talking about Montez Ford being a singles, and people wanting to treat him like a star, if that don’t motivate his ass, nothing will. If he don’t think the chatter is real, that’s on him, okay?
I’ve seen the difference in Angie, he’s a totally different guy now. He looks different, he walks different, he talks different, and when he gets in the ring, he works different, so I think that’s the motivating factor to keep this tag team thing rolling. Like I said, it’s going to be a time, but I don’t think the time is now.
The rumors of The Street Profits’ breakup started during the final episode of SmackDown before Money In The Bank. Interviewer Kayla Braxton asked the team whether they were aware of rumors regarding them not getting along. This led to their Undisputed Tag Team Championship match at the PPV, where the Street Profits would lose to The Usos after a hard-fought battle.
