Road Dogg started his career in WWE as a wrestler at the end of 1994. He eventually transitioned to a backstage producer role in 2014 and also worked as a WWE Performance center trainer. Now that he’s a free agent once again after his WWE release, the D-O-Double G would also love to work in AEW.

The company began the year in the only way they knew how and released numerous talents and members of staff from their contracts. This included the veteran Road Dogg, who had a huge backstage role in the company.

While speaking on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” Road Dogg made it clear that he would love to work backstage in AEW in the future.

“I wanted to keep my relationship with [WWE] really good even if I went somewhere else to work. Which, I’d love to do that. I’d love to work with promo guys backstage at AEW because it’s just new talent — Well, half of them are NXT talent I’ve worked with in the past, but I would love to do something challenging, you know what I mean?

Vince McMahon also wanted to make Road Dogg an Executive in WWE. It remains to be seen whether Road Dogg will make his way to AEW or not somewhere down the line.
