Miro used to work under the name of Rusev when he was in WWE. During his time in the company, Miro simply did not have a very solid run for the majority of the time there. Miro also signed with AEW for a good reason.
Following his WWE release a couple of years ago, Miro made his AEW debut at the September 9, 2020, episode of Dynamite as Kip Sabian’s Best Man.
While speaking with “What Culture”, Miro talked about signing with AEW. The Redeemer explained why he signed a long-term deal with AEW. It was ultimately due to his Redeemer character.
“I just told Tony, ‘Now, this is what we’ll do. I’m going to be me.’ And because he’s a great boss, he let me run with the ball. He gave me the ball and said, ‘Do what you’ve got to do.’ And I’m doing exactly that. He’s not there, he’s not telling me not to smile, not to look at the people, not to do this and that. He’s given me a clean go and that’s what I’m doing. That’s why I signed a multi-year deal because he let me do all these opportunities. If it was the situation like before, that would’ve never happened.”
Miro was part of the fatal four-way match to determine the first All-Atlantic Champion at AEW Forbidden Door. He failed to capture the title as Pac won the match. We’ll have to wait and see what AEW has planned for Miro.
