John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and was the face of the company throughout the PG era. Since 2017, he adopted a more part-time schedule as well. WWE has also unveiled the John Cena Legacy belt recently.
The Leader of Cenation finally returned on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. WWE ran a couple of pre-recorded video messages from current superstars and also veterans. This included AEW stars Paul Wight, Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson.
During the most recent episode of WWE’s The Bump, the company announced that they will be releasing a legacy championship for John Cena, with pre-orders for the belts starting in July.
WWE also said that they will only be making 500 of them. The title belt has 16 jewels on its center plate, symbolizing the 16 World Championship wins that John Cena won. The side plates show the evolution of John Cena’s logo through the years, and the words “Word Life” are engraved on the side of the belt.
John Cena also stated that he will return to the ring, but is not sure when. It is likely he will be back in time for a feud with Austin Theory at SummerSlam. We’ll have to see how WWE will book their feud.
