RVD is certainly one of the most technically-gifted pro wrestlers to have ever competed in the pro wrestling world. The icon has competed in several promotions such as ECW, WCW, WWE, and IMPACT Wrestling during his career that has lasted over thirty years. He also explained why he stayed in WWE despite wanting to leave.

The Whole F’n Show became a fan of the pro wrestling world in the 80s and realized he wanted to do it all his life. In fact, RVD was also instructed during the early days of his career to say that he was actually related to Jean-Claude Van Damme.

RVD was burned out around the time WWE’s version of ECW came around, but he still stayed. While speaking on “Rewind Recap Relive,” RVD revealed that he wanted to leave WWE before the ECW reboot.

“Before that I was kinda feeling, ‘I don’t know how much longer I’m gonna stick around.’ I really needed a break. The monotony, the politics, feeling like it didn’t matter, I didn’t matter, and then all of a sudden, boom, I remember saying, ‘Dude, I’m good, man, I can go another 10 years right like this. Let’s get ECW going. Let’s build it up!’”

Rob Van Dam was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year and also gave Vince McMahon a bunch of rolling papers as a gift, which McMahon found very funny. RVD is happy where he is in life right now and that is all that matters.
