AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling teamed up to bring fans the long-awaited Forbidden Door pay-per-view last Sunday. The show was widely acclaimed and brought a huge crowd to Chicago’s United Center. Today, Tony Khan declared the show a major financial success.

Khan tweeted that the show brought in over $1 million at the gate. Fans at home were excited to watch the show, as well. Tony noted that Forbidden Door brought in over $5 million in pay-per-view buys.

#BloodAndGuts TOMORROW!”

Tony Khan is hoping to carry the momentum from Forbidden Door into his next big event. AEW will present Blood & Guts on tomorrow’s episode of Dynamite. A big rating could be just what the doctor ordered after television viewership for Dynamite and Rampage have floundered recently.

A huge double cage, double ring main event will be the star attraction of Blood & Guts. The Blackpool Combat Club will join forces with Eddie Kingston and Santana & Ortiz to take on the Jericho Appreciation Society. We will have to wait and see if the buzz from Forbidden Door translates into TV success for the huge show in Detroit.
