The drastic change in character of Roman Reigns over the years has been well documented. He went from being an utterly dull babyface to one of the most compelling heels in WWE. Reigns was also given huge props for a good reason.

Roman Reigns was an eyesore for many when he was a babyface and fans and pro wrestlers alike agreed with this notion. This is in spite of the fact that Reigns competed in high profile matches against the very best.

While speaking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling, Kurt Angle gave Roman Reigns massive props for digging himself out of a hole in WWE, when it came to his babyface character.

“I genuinely have a ton of respect for Roman because, you know, Vince McMahon pushed him from the beginning and he wasn’t ready to be pushed and fans started hating him, and he had to dig himself out of the hole – and it was a really deep hole too, and he did it. I mean, to be able to come out of that and prove to everybody you’re the best worker in the business, amazing.

When Vince McMahon wants to push someone and fans don’t think he deserves it, fans are going to sh*t on them, and they were shit*ing on Roman for a while. But not anymore, he’s earned everybody’s respect.”

Brock Lesnar will be facing off against The Tribal Chief for the titles at SummerSlam in a last man standing match. It remains to be seen who Roman Reigns’ future challengers will be, should Reigns defeat Lesnar once again.
