Cody Rhodes parted ways with AEW earlier this year and then made his way back to WWE. Since then he was immediately booked as a huge deal, especially thanks to his presentation. There is also doubt over his ability to draw the masses.
Despite suffering from a legit torn pectoral muscle, Rhodes managed to compete against Seth Rollins in the main event of Hell In A Cell. Rhodes won the match and since then has been out of action.
While speaking with Wrestle Buddy, Vince Russo talked about Cody Rhodes being a credible opponent for Roman Reigns. Russo then expressed his doubt over Rhodes’ ability to draw the masses.
“I think from a business point of view, bro, [Cody] went back there and got a hell of a lot more money, man. So, I think he did really really really good for himself. But again, bro, I’m just going to go right back to the well. I don’t think Cody Rhodes draws the masses. I just don’t, bro. The hardcores love him. A mass audience, I don’t think he’s the guy, bro.”
WWE might also be presenting Cody Rhodes as the face of the company now. Cody Rhodes is expected to be out of action for a long time. It remains to be seen what WWE will have planned for Rhodes once he returns.
