Sonny Kiss signed with AEW in February 2019, and he was regularly featured on AEW television. That is no longer then case as he was removed from Dynamite and mostly appeared on Dark. Kiss also clarified his comments about pushing LGBTQ wrestlers.

Kiss, whose part of the LGBTQ+ community, had expressed a need and excitement to be on AEW Dynamite and AEW Rampage. He also recently stated that he wanted to see more LGBTQ+ athletes all year round.

Some fans took Sonny’s words to mean that LGBTQ athletes should be pushed all year because they are LGBTQ. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Sonny clarified that they should be pushed based on merit.

“I said something on another podcast, I said, ‘I think LGBTQ athletes should be pushed all year round,’ and I think it got twisted into me saying ‘people should be pushed because they are LGBTQ ‘ instead of based on their merit. There are a lot of people, workers in AEW, WWE, all over that are killing it. the Indies has a myriad of amazing LGBTQ workers. I’m saying we should be booked all year round because of we are talented and can go in the ring and we just happen to be LGBTQ and not being used just for the Pride month only.”

It is not known when AEW will be using Sonny Kiss properly again. By the looks of it, that might be awhile, so fans will just have to accept that now.
