Ember Moon was one of the best things about WWE NXT’s women’s division. After an awkward run on the main roster, Moon returned to NXT for a second stint. She also felt her passion was sucked out during her time in WWE.

Ember Moon was released by WWE last year, much to the shock of fans and pro wrestlers alike. After competing in the independent circuit as Athena, she made her debut at AEW Double Or Nothing and started feuding with Jade Cargill.

While speaking to Steve Fall of NBC Sports, Athena talked about how she lost her passion for pro wrestling towards the end of her run in WWE.

“Over the course of like six, seven years with WWE it became work. When I like left it was like I got to sit at home for three months and just kind of figure out what I wanted to do, and I didn’t necessarily know if I wanted to wrestle again it was just like ah okay because I was afraid that I would go like, and it would feel like work and so like on some level yeah I feel like the passion was sucked out.”

We will have to wait and see how Athena will fare in AEW. Fans would be glad if she ends up defeating Jade Cargill for the TBS Title as well. Only time will tell if she’ll find success in AEW or not.
