NXT 2.0 is a huge black box where budding talent can sometimes come across experienced superstars. Finn Balor’s stint in NXT UK allowed for a new precedent to be set. While new talent gets to learn from a seasoned fighter, WWE superstars get to reinvent themselves.
NXT UK is about to have one of its star faces transition to NXT 2.0. Jordan Devlin was one of the most promising faces in NXT UK, and of course he’s getting a rebranding as he’s joining NXT 2.0.
Devlin is advertised to be ‘JD McDonagh.’ During the June 21 edition of NXT 2.0, fans got to see a vignette that announced the coming of JD McDonagh into WWE’s rebranded developmental wing.
Jordan Devlin was part of NXT UK ever since the 4th episode of the show was aired. While he never got to become a titleholder on the brand, the star ended becoming the NXT cruiserweight champion before the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020.
Devlin’s championship remained undefended for almost a year. He faced the interim championship Santos Escobar at NXT Takeover: Stand & Deliver as they slugged it out in a unification ladder match. His set-up for leaving NXT UK came from a ‘Loser Leaves’ match against Ilja Dragunov.
