Pete Dunne was one of the best stars in NXT UK, where he held the NXT UK Champion for 685 days. He made his way to NXT, where he took part in several memorable feuds and matches. He also credited Bryan Danielson and William Regal for his current WWE character’s presentation.
The Bruiserweight made his way to Friday Night Smackdown back in March. To the shock of fans, his name was changed to Butch. Unsurprisingly, fans dragged WWE for the decision.
People have now gotten used to how Butch is. While speaking with The Metro in the UK, Butch talked about his current character. He credited Bryan Danielson and William Regal for his presentation in WWE.
“Part of what got him, where he was, was the stuff with Kane,” Butch said about Danielson’s cartoony partnership with Kane in 2012 that saw the two form the wildly popular “Team Hell NO!
Some of Regal’s best work was the straightlaced stuff later in his career, right? But earlier in his run, he was the commissioner doing all sorts of funny stuff,” referring to Regal’s early days in the then-WWF as the commissioner, as well as his tenure as the “Real Man’s Man.”
Butch is currently teaming up with Sheamus & Ridge Holland on Friday Night Smackdown. We’ll have to wait and see whether WWE will have something planned for Butch in the future.
