AEW President Tony Khan might have a lot of passion for pro wrestling, but he has now become someone fans make fun of regularly. It does not help Tony Khan’s constant boasts and taking shots at WWE. Khan also bragged about AEW Dynamite this week for some reason.
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite: Road Rager was an episode worth remembering. However, the episode garnered an overnight viewership of 761,000. This was a 19% drop from the previous week’s episode. It suffered in the key demo ratings as well.
Tony Khan took to Twitter and addressed Dynamite’s disappointing ratings. In spite of that, he bragged about the show being #1 overall.
Thank you to everyone who watched #AEWDynamite last night! Though cable/satellite overall was down, we were #1 in our timeslots for each hour of Dynamite + the show tied for #1 overall for Wednesday! We’re back with a big Friday Night #AEWRampage on TNT tomorrow @ 10pm ET/9pm CT!
The tie that Khan mentioned is the 18-49 demographic rating for cable originals. Both “Dynamite” and Bravo’s “Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills” garnered a 0.28 rating. “Dynamite” was watched prominently by men in that demographic as it beat “Real Housewives” by 0.30 rating difference.
Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether Dynamite will bounce back from this decline. Fans are already concerned for the company’s future after this week’s show.
