News broke that the WWE board of directors is investigating Vince McMahon over cash settlements made to a former WWE employee. There also were reports that WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis was heavily involved in one of the settlements. That led a lot of people to wonder what Johnny Ace is up to after Vince McMahon stepped down.

McMahon recently announced that he would be stepping away from his role as CEO and will be making an announcement on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. Although fans now know McMahon will appear tonight, a recent report puts doubt on whether Laurinaitis will do the same.

PW Insider is reporting that they have not heard whether Laurinaitis himself will be present during SmackDown. McMahon reportedly will be speaking to the locker room before the show.

For those who have asked, we have not heard whether John Laurinaitis will be present at tonight’s taping in Minneapolis. That is a big question the talents have been asking since official text messages from the company are usually signed with Laurinaitis’ name but the announcement of the investigation was not accompanied by any signature.
