Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have competed all over the world in various companies, further honing their craft. They are the ROH and AAA Tag Team Champions and proudly represent themselves as such. They also disclosed what Vince McMahon thought of them in WWE.
FTR was known as The Revival in WWE and saw a lot of success in NXT as the NXT Tag Team Champions. They faced several great teams including American Alpha and DIY. It was clear that the two were not happy in the company anymore.
After being underutilized to a great extent on the main roster, they were finally granted their release by WWE back in 2020 and eventually made their way to AEW.
While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Dax Harwood recalled what Vince McMahon told FTR during the team’s time in WWE. McMahon criticized them for being “just professional wrestlers.”
“It was from a night we wrestled in WWE, and waiting in Gorilla for us after the match was Vince McMahon. He had his hands in his pockets and said to us, ‘Everyone says you’re the next great tag team. But you know what I see? The problem with you guys is you’re just professional wrestlers.’ That night in the ring, standing next to Bret, I thought to myself, ‘Damn right, I’m a professional wrestler. I’m a great professional wrestler, and look at where my life is right now.’”
We will have to wait and see what AEW has planned next for FTR, as they certainly have a lot of momentum going for them right now.
