John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and was the face of the company throughout the PG era. Since 2017, Cena transitioned into the role of a part-timer as he focused on his Hollywood career. Cena also addressed those who hated his wrestling gear over the years.
For well over a decade, John Cena wore a variety of colourful shirts and hats. In celebration of Cena’s big anniversary and return to Monday Night RAW, the company released brand new “20th-anniversary” merchandise that’s now available on WWE Shop.
Cena has faced tons of criticism when it came to his choice of attire. Even The Rock mocked him for being Fruity Pebbles back in 2011. Cena took to Twitter and commented on all the hate he got for his ‘uniform’ while promoting his latest merchandise.
What we wear is an extension of us. In 20 years I have been ridiculed countless times about my ‘uniform’ but I would #NeverGiveUp on being ME. Here’s to ALL of us who refuse to sacrifice who we are to please those who don’t understand us.
John Cena is also in talks with WWE for a match at SummerSlam. We’ll have to see if that will happen or not.
