WWE has been doing a lot of crossovers between Raw and SmackDown despite the brand split still being in place. Even stars from NXT have appeared in feuds with main roster talents. That practice is scheduled to continue this week on SmackDown.
AJ Styles joined Finn Balor and Liv Morgan in a battle with Edge and The Judgment Day. Balor ultimately turned on Edge, becoming the new leader of the faction. According to a new report, Styles and Balor are scheduled to appear on this week’s episode of SmackDown.
Mike Johnson of PW Insider reported the news. AJ Styles and Finn Balor are headed to Minneapolis, where they will join the blue brand. It is not known if they will appear on TV or are just there to work a dark match.
Finn Balor was placed into the leadership role of The Judgment Day after WWE wanted to take the stable in a supernatural direction. Edge was not interested in such a storyline. Now, it will fall on Balor to lead the group consisting of Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest.
Fans will have to wait and see if WWE has something special in store for Finn Balor and AJ Styles. They could simply be there to continue their feud in an untelevised match. Balor might take the opportunity to make it a recruiting mission.
There is still plenty of unfinished business between AJ and Finn Balor. Balor turned his back on his former teammate, and there is sure to be bad blood. We will find out soon enough if the story will carry over to SmackDown.
