Andrade El Idolo recently expressed his frustration with being unable to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling. The AEW star made quite a name for himself in NJPW during his stint there. Andrade blamed politics in Mexican wrestling for the issue.
Konnan is the head booker for the AAA promotion in Mexico. AAA has a working agreement with Andrade El Idolo’s main US home, All Elite Wrestling. CMLL works closely with NJPW, which Andrade believes created the conflict.
Konnan took to social media to deny that his organization has anything to do with keeping Andrade El Idolo from working in New Japan. His flat denial implies that it is AAA who is keeping Andrade from wrestling for NJPW. Andrade currently has a deal to work with the promotion.
“We have nothing to do with NJ or CMLL arcane decisions.”
The working relationships between CMLL and NJPW and AAA and AEW have created a uniquely tough circumstance for Andrade. He would love to return to Japan, but something is currently holding him up. Konnan insists that it is not AAA.
Time will tell if Andrade can work something out so he can wrestle for New Japan Pro Wrestling. While he waits for a solution, Andrade is living his best life. He recently married Charlotte Flair and introduced one of his old associates to AEW. A solution to this problem would only enhance the nice run Andrade has been on lately.
