Paige Confirms That She Has No Non-Compete After WWE Contract Expires

Paige became the subject of a lot of speculation after she recently revealed that WWE would not be renewing her contract. The former Divas Champion explained that her deal with the company expires on July 7. Paige took to her Twitch stream recently to talk to fans about the circumstances.

Paige noted that it was WWE’s decision not to re-sign her. She said she feels good and seems confident that an in-ring return is in her future. One fan asked if she had to wait out a non-compete contract.

That is not the case, since her deal will be over. Paige will be a free agent on July 7, 2022. She once again explained to fans that she won’t have to wait to start taking bookings, as her obligations to WWE will be finished.

“If you don’t renew the contract then, I don’t think there’s any non-compete clause. That’s not what I was told on the phone. We’re having a normal conversation and it’s like, ‘So, we’re not gonna renew your contract.’ I texted Vince and he texted back. Everyone was respectful about it. It’s a bummer.”

Many expect Paige to make the jump straight to AEW. She said she would be willing to work for another company as long as the money was right. For many, that means it’s only a matter of time, but the doctors may say otherwise.
