Vince McMahon wants to be able to tell his own life story from his perspective. It was announced last month that Abraham Reisman, author of Stan Lee’s biography, would be penning a book about McMahon’s life. Now, Vince is trying to sell a book of his own.
The Reisman book was not going to feature involvement from Mr. McMahon. The new project is an effort for McMahon to tell the story of how he built WWE in his own words. The two books would be in direct competition.
Representatives for Vince McMahon are shopping the autobiography to major publishers. At the moment, those involved are trying to keep the project secret. Dave Meltzer discussed the plan in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“Representatives of Vince McMahon are shopping to the major book companies the idea of an autobiography of Vince to talk about how he built the WWE. The New York Post reported on it this week saying that everyone has been mum in trying to keep it a secret.
This would attempt to go head-to-head with the Abraham Riesman (who wrote a bio on Stan Lee) book “Ringmaster” that Simon & Shuster is putting out early next year. That’s the book project they first asked me about. That book, that Riesman has been working on since 2020, didn’t include any help from WWE or McMahon, but just about everyone else talked with him about it.”
It remains to be seen if there will be any buyers for Vince McMahon’s autobiography. He has lived an incredibly fascinating life. It would be very interesting to see how Vince tells his side of the story.
