MJF has established himself as one of the most controversial and talked about talents in recent memory. When he speaks on the mic, people simply listen intently. AEW also wants fans to think MJF is no longer with the company.

As seen on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF sent shockwaves across the pro wrestling world due to his scathing promo. He blasted AEW President Tony Khan and begged Khan to fire him.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW is willing to forget short-term financial gains in order to have a big payoff for their MJF storyline.

Melter added that AEW wants “people to think he’s gone,” which certainly makes sense as MJF was also pulled from AEW’s opening videos package and was not mentioned at all on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Meltzer emphasized that “nobody knows and nobody will know” exactly what MJF and Khan discussed during their meeting after Double Or Nothing either. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for MJF as the company seems to be all in on the storyline.
