William Regal has never been a fan of wrestling news and gossip. Earlier this year, he called out the rumor mill for reporting falsely on his health situation. Now, Regal has responded to a complete misinterpretation of his words on the latest AEW Dynamite.

Sportskeeda shared a quote where William Regal talked about the Jericho Appreciation Society. It was framed in a way that would lead one to believe that Regal was bashing his former employer, WWE. Regal has always been a professional and took a moment to clarify how he felt about the post.

“I wished I hadn’t seen this and this is why I don’t look on here much. This was a jab aimed at the JAS, people we are fighting with at the moment. Stop trying to make headlines or cause trouble. Another reason for me to stay out of the wrestling bubble.”

His Lordship recently launched the “Gentleman Villain” podcast where he discusses his favorite stories and takes on pro wrestling. Regal can do without the headlines intended to do nothing but cause trouble. The post was a clear misinterpretation, as he is currently feuding with a faction who calls themselves “sports entertainers.”

The Blackpool Combat Club is building towards their upcoming Blood and Guts match with Jericho’s group. The story of pure pro wrestlers against sports entertainers will culminate in the gory matchup. Regal wants to be clear that his words had nothing to do with any other wrestling companies.
