WWE has found a great home for SmackDown with the Fox network. The weekly wrestling series is the only major wrestling show that can be watched for free over the air. The lucrative deal has been very good for Vince McMahon’s company announced the move in 2018.

With a new television season coming up shortly, Fox has announced that WWE SmackDown will be keeping its Friday night timeslot. The network issued a press release announcing its new Fall schedule. SmackDown is still listed for Friday nights at 8 PM eastern.

“FOX’s WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN continues on Fridays (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) throughout the season.”

There were no rumors that SmackDown was in danger of moving to a new timeslot. This simply confirms that Fox will not be making any changes going forward. It will be business as usual for the blue brand.

WWE has a deal with SmackDown’s deal with Fox is worth upwards of $1 billion. That is a massive deal, and it’s why WWE frequently works to keep the network happy. So far, the relationship appears to be doing just fine.

This week’s episode of SmackDown should be very interesting. Matt Riddle has said he is coming to look for Roman Reigns and wants a shot at the championship. Thanks to the expected news that SmackDown is airing in its normal timeslot this season, fans will know exactly where to look to find it.
