AEW Rampage has been tough to find on the dial in recent weeks. Due to the NHL Playoffs airing on TNT, the show has been moved into all sorts of weird timeslots. Fortunately, fans will no longer have to wait until the last minute to know when the show will air.
The final scheduled TNT broadcast of the NHL Playoffs aired last night. That means that Rampage will return to its normal time moving forward. That time, of course, is Friday nights at 10 PM eastern.
The Eastern Conference final between Tampa Bay and New York’s remaining games will all air on ESPN. The NHL Stanley Cup Final will air on ABC and the ESPN app. With no more hockey, Tony Khan has to be hoping for a bump in the ratings. Viewership sunk significantly when the show was moved into the various alternate timeslots.
The next chance for AEW to be pre-empted by sports is the Major League Baseball playoffs in October. That is a long time away, and a schedule hasn’t been finalized. The NCAA basketball tournament in March also airs on the Turner networks and could cause some disruptions.
Hockey forced AEW to air at some very strange hours. One episode in early May started at 5:30 eastern. For those on the west coast, that meant Rampage kicked off at 2:30 when many are still at work.
AEW Rampage should see ratings level off a bit now that it will be airing at its regular time. It must be a huge relief for Tony Khan, who has had to deal with some last-minute changes. Fortunately, it will be several months before he has to worry about it again.
