Cody Rhodes is scheduled for the main event at tonight’s WWE Hell in a Cell premium live event. Rhodes has been feuding with Seth Rollins ever since WrestleMania 38. The two are set to tangle inside the infamous Hell in a Cell structure.

Cody has been wrestling matches with Seth Rollins on the live event circuit leading up to Hell in a Cell. Last night, the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois was set to be the location for their latest untelevised matchup. Instead, Cody did not wrestle.

Fans who were at the show have reported that WWE announced that Cody Rhodes had suffered an injury. He was replaced in the scheduled match by Drew McIntyre. After Drew defeated Rollins, Cody came out to chase him away.

It is unknown if Cody’s injury is legitimate or a work. It could be minor aches and pains and WWE not wanting to take a chance on losing their main event at HIAC for a house show match. The WWE Universe will find out soon enough.

Blurring the lines between storyline and reality has been a major trend lately. Tony Khan has capitalized on the controversy surrounding MJF to build a major angle. WWE might do something similar to build interest among fans who are curious if Cody Rhodes will show up.

We will have to wait and see what happens. WWE Hell in a Cell airs tonight live on Peacock. You can follow all the live results right here at Ringside News.
