Thunder Rosa successfully defended her AEW Women’s World Championship against Serena Deeb at last Sunday’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view. Rosa then failed to make any sort of appearance on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. Many fans have been wondering why her momentum wasn’t carried over to television.
An initial report from WhatCulture said that Thunder Rosa was angry that she was not featured on the show. Since then, it has been revealed that Rosa was actually ill and was sent home. Others in her traveling party were sick, as well.
Dave Meltzer discussed the reason for Thunder Rosa’s absence from Dynamite in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. There was a segment planned for the champ on Dynamite. Unfortunately, her illness kept her from being at the Kia Forum.
“There was a report that Thunder Rosa was upset at having no follow up from her win over Serena Deeb and not being on Dynamite. In actuality she had a segment on the show but left due to being ill. Several of her friends with her also were ill and all went home.”
There is no evidence that Thunder Rosa was angry at AEW for being left off the show. Sometimes people simply get sick. When she is feeling better, fans can expect to see her back on television.
Hopefully, Rosa is feeling better already. She did announce on social media that she would be appearing on today’s Busted Open Radio. Everybody at Ringside News is wishing Thunder Rosa a speedy recovery.
