W. Morrissey is one of pro wrestling’s best recent comeback stories. After nearly dying due to an alcohol problem, the former Big Cass turned his life around. Morrissey re-dedicated himself to his work and signed with Impact Wrestling in April of 2021.

In Impact, W. Morrissey had memorable bouts with Matt Cardona, Moose, and more. He was a part of the company’s main event scene. Morrissey started his run as a selfish heel but morphed into a beloved character in the company.

W. Morrissey recently appeared with AEW as part of the storyline between MJF and Wardlow. Morrissey was well-received and many hoped to see him sign with Tony Khan’s promotion. That is now theoretically possible, as PW Insider has reported that Morrissey has parted ways with Impact Wrestling.

“W. Morrisey, aka the former Big Cass in WWE, has departed Impact Wrestling, PWInsider.com has confirmed.  Tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling on AXS TV, featuring PCO & Morrisey vs. Moose & Steve Maclin will be his final appearance for the company.”

Many never thought W. Morrissey would find success in the pro wrestling industry again. In a 2018 match for Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore, he had a seizure in the ring due to alcohol withdrawals. The road back was not an easy one.

Morrissey went to rehab and started turning things around. Four years later, he finds himself a star once again. Time will tell what’s next for W. Morrissey, but no matter what, he should be proud of what he achieved with Impact Wrestling.
