Johnny Elite returned to AEW during last night’s episode of Dynamite to issue an open challenge to the locker room. That challenge was answered by none other than Miro. The Redeemer made quick work of the former John Morrison, but fans have been wondering whether Johnny Elite truly is All Elite.
It was reported after his first appearance that Tony Khan was open to bringing Johnny Elite in for more dates but that the former WWE superstar was not signed full-time. That appears to be the case here, as it has been confirmed by Fightful that Johnny has not signed with the company. He could be booked further by AEW on a per appearance basis.
“It was confirmed that Johnny Elite is not signed full-time.”
Johnny Elite made his debut as The Joker in the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Samoa Joe eliminated him in the first round, but he made a good impression on many. He also added to his ever-growing list of monikers, including Johnny Nitro, Johnny Impact, Johnny Mundo, and more.
AEW fans have given Johnny Elite warm receptions for both of his appearances. If he continues to remain over, Tony Khan might think about a full-time spot. Right now, AEW’s roster is already stacked, with several talented wrestlers fighting for television time.
We will have to see if and when Johnny Elite returns for another spot with AEW. So far, he has been a very solid enhancement talent on a part-time basis. It remains to be seen if he can earn a full-time spot with Tony Khan’s promotion.
