Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy have an extraordinary bond indeed. In a recent interview, they talked about Jeff’s arrival in AEW, their reunion, and his release from WWE. Along the way, they also addressed WWE’s attempt to make Jeff a Hall of Famer.
The Hardy brother’s appeared on the latest episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast where Matt claimed that Jeff was offered a WWE Hall of Fame spot without him, which Jeff immediately turned down. He had a reason for rejecting Vince McMahon’s company’s offer.
Jeff said, “Well, first of all, I don’t want to go in there without my brother and it’s not my time. This is too early. This is crazy. So yeah, it was very emotional. I was like, ‘What are they trying to do because naturally, I’m going to be reunited with my brother in AEW when I’m free of WWE.’”
“I told my wife what had happened. I said, ‘I can’t believe what they just offered me,” he continued. “So it was very emotional, but I happily declined it.”
The Hardys defeated The Young Bucks on last Sunday’s AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view. There is no doubt that Jeff Hardy should be a WWE Hall of Famer, but we’ll just have to see if he ever accepts the invitation.
